Buyback Info
Your current edition textbooks are valuable and can be sold back daily or at the end of
each NIACC semester during a period called "buyback". The prices paid are based
on current demand for each title. Your receipt is not needed during buyback.
We buy used textbooks in good condition The bindings must be in good shape, with
covers and pages intact. Study guides and workbooks must be "like new" and
completely free of writing.
We pay the most for current edition books that your instructors have ordered for
use next semester. As soon as the faculty submit their books orders, we have
"demand" for those books.
When we have bought enough books from students to fill an instructor's order, we
can no longer purchase that title. This is because we are fully stocked and no
longer have "demand" for that book.
If you have a current edition textbook that is not being used on our campus next
semester, we check to see if the book is "in demand" nationally, and pay you the
current market price.
The price the national market will pay for your book is much lower than the
price we pay you when we need the title on our own campus. This is because the
warehouse that buys these books must pay for shipping to a central location,
cataloging, and storage for months or years before reselling them.
